Silres BS 5130
SILRES® BS 5130 is an efficient, water-based polydimethylsiloxane emulsion. It can be used as water repellent for glass fiber and rock wool systems of which the binder is phenolic resin. It is also suitable for water-repelling treatment of puffed minerals.
The emusion is compatible with most phenolic resin solutions, and can be sprayed onto the warm material in order to avoid an additional drying process.
Advantages
·No side reaction with all kinds of phenolic resin, wide applications
·Reactive water repellency,long-term duability

Recommended dosage
The quantity of SILRES® BS 5130 to be applied depends on the desired water repellency of the end product. It can be diluted with any quantity of water. The typical dosage of original liquid (relative to dry weight of materials) is:
Rock wool —— 0.1 - 0.5 %
Glass wool —— 0.2 - 0.6 %
Expanded perlite —— 0.3 - 1.0 %
Haydite —— 0.2 - 0.5 %
